Kettering students and faculty alike are ready to help you expand your educational and cultural horizons and create an engrossing, rewarding experience for you. This guide is your introduction to the Kettering University exchange program and your invitation to engineer your future and engineer your success.
Kettering University offers tuition exchange programs for many of our international partners. These programs allow students to study for one or two terms at Kettering while earning credit toward their degree programs at home.
Exchange students are a vital part of the Kettering community. During their time 在这里, exchange students are encouraged to participate fully as students at Kettering University. They are welcome to join student organizations and events, become invovled in the Flint community, 和经验.S. university culture while benefiting from an academically rigorous program.
Exchange students study at Kettering for one or two academic terms beginning with the fall or spring term. They also have the option to participate in Academic Training (internship activities) in the industry or through a research position at Kettering University.

Eligibility Requirements
All exchange students must meet the eligibility requirements set by their home institution, Kettering University, 和美国.S. Department of State’s Exchange 访问or Program (BridgeUSA).
Interested students who wish to participate in the exchange program at Kettering University must meet the general admission requirements for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the following items:
- Be officially nominated by their home institution (for a complete list of requirements at your home institution and to be nominated for a program, please speak with someone from the International Office at your home university)
- Be an admitted undergraduate or graduate student at one of Kettering’s partner institutions
- Provide an official university transcript
- Provide a current resume or CV
- Submit a personal statement detailing your interest in and goals for the exchange program
- Provide proof of sufficient English proficiency in keeping with the Exchange 访问or Program
- Kettering University accepts language proficiency according to the B1/B2 ACTFL language level standards. Students can submit language test scores (DAAD, TOEFL, Duolingo, etc..) verifying their proficiency or submit a verification letter from their home institution
- Provide proof of sufficient financial support in the form of a signed bank letter, scholarship letter for the exchange period, or the Exchange Student Affidavit of Support

The BridgeUSA program, formerly the Exchange 访问or Program, is facilitated by the The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Kettering University has established tuition exchange programs with several partner universities abroad. Eligible participants should apply with their home institution to be nominated for an exchange term at Kettering University. 一旦接受了, Kettering University will provide the necessary documents for the student to apply for a J-1 visa. Kettering University offers 9 undergraduate degree programs and 8 graduate degree programs. Exchange students are eligible to participate in any in-person course in their field of study offered during their program with a few exceptions. It is understood exchange students will choose courses in consultation with their home faculty to ensure they have sufficient background knowledge.
